El moroso de la nona is a delightful and successful comedy by Giacinto Gallina, which has been waiting to be individually reissued for almost forty years.
The palpitations over the outcome of a regatta are experienced and a young girl's first love is also discovered, a love that is thwarted due to the differences in social class between her and her beloved but which will ultimately triumph.
But the real focus of the play is the delicate story of an elderly couple (the grandmother Rosa and the gruff old man Bortolo) who loved each other in their youth and accidentally meet again after fifty years.
It is a story that makes you smile because of its lightness, but which involves and moves you because of the humanity that comes out of it.
